It includes many short biographical entries on magicians, everyone from Houdini and Thurston to Ludwig Leopold Doebler and Wiljalba Frikell. The volume is useful as a cross-section of magical history and methods up to the time of its publication in 1949 and is a good source for magic that may be ripe for revival today. ![]() This fascinating book is a compendium of information on hundreds of magic-related topics, including methods, history and general subjects. In looking at methodology the book examines entire classes of tricks, for example: fish catching, flower production, four ace tricks, and forcing-to name just a few found by flipping through the F’s.
